Per the early church’s example, we should pray (1) Scripture to God as he has revealed himself to us, (2) in submission to his authority, (3) for our own obedience, and (4) ultimately for the salvation of the lost. The idea of praying the Scripture deserves more attention and instruction. (As an aside, a systematized approach to prayer based on the acronym P.R.A.Y. and some corporate and personal prayer guides have been provided in the appendix.) The focus of prayer in Acts 4:24–30
