was essentially a fortune-teller, a medium who was in contact with demonic spirits in an attempt to predict the future, a practice clearly condemned in the Law of Moses (Deuteronomy 18:9–12). Moreover, the Bible is clear that only God knows the future and what it holds (Isaiah 46:9–10). God is the only omniscient being who can step outside of time and see it all at once. Apparently, the demons within her were interested in harassing the apostle and his team because of their spreading of the gospel.
