True pilgrims practice the art of healthy detachment. They hold all things lightly and love nothing and no one more than God. Some time ago my family and I moved from the urban jungle of Chicago to the mountains and lakes of northern California. We felt like the Beverly Hillbillies, with moving vans and cars filled with stuff. In the move, we decided to leave behind our woodworking gear. My wife, Margi, and I loved building things together. We weren’t experts at it, but we built some cool projects.
