This gospel—the “good news” that by grace, through Christ, we can be saved from the consequences of our sin—stabilizes us by assuring us that when we surrender our lives to Jesus, our future is secure. We live at peace with God, both now and for all of eternity. We aren’t exempt from challenging circumstances, but we know God’s presence and power as we walk through them. We aren’t necessarily strong all the time, but in our weakness we’re able to stand firm. In the power of Jesus, we stand. In addition
