“they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed” (Gen. 2:25). Adam and Eve could see each other as they really were, without shame, disappointment, or frustration. The sex relationship God had designed for them brought the blessings of companionship, unity, and delight—and note that this was some time before the command to bear children was given (Gen. 3:16). God’s plan for our pleasure has never changed, and we realize this even more as we consider how we are “fearfully and wonderfully
