and promote attendance at your church. And your congregation might be a mile wide and an inch deep. Artificial growth, crowds, and numbers are easy to come by and costly. Rich expository exegesis of God’s Word doesn’t cost anything financially. The price is blood, sweat, and tears on your part, but the result is a church a mile wide and a mile deep. And remember the mile deep comes first. Want to grow a church? Feed the sheep. Want to enlarge a ministry? Feed the sheep. The Word makes them strong.
