at least set the table a bit. Providence teaches us that God is not disconnected from what is happening in the world today. There is no such thing as chance, luck, or fate. Rather, an all-wise, loving, powerful God is upholding, governing, and ordering all things as if they come from his very hand. The Heidelberg Catechism says it very well in its section for Lord’s Day 10: God’s providence is his almighty and ever present power, whereby, as with his hand, he still upholds heaven and earth and all
