In its most basic interpretation, the first half of Ephesians describes a narrative picture of what Jesus has accomplished through his cross; the second half of the letter describes how we can walk in the light of that reality. Our expectations for our study of this letter should be high, and no doubt Ephesians will not disappoint. I haven’t read a more effusive description of the letter than this one by pastor and theologian Martyn Lloyd-Jones: There are statements and passages in this Epistle
