I can think of only one reason Jesus came as a servant: it is the very nature of God to serve. Were it not so, what hope would exist for humanity? We were hopelessly lost in our sin, unable to render ourselves acceptable to God. Jesus served us by making an eternal relationship with the Father possible through his own life, death and resurrection.
