Preaching for recognition or to demonstrate eloquence is manipulative because our focus pivots away from the great God we proclaim. Likewise, persuading merely for numbers or decisions subjects our listeners to an abusive agenda instead of their kingdom development. Far too often, the preaching in many pulpits is nothing more than an exploitive effort to build the messenger’s kingdom rather than the Lord’s.
