The final element in the area of covenantal ethics involves continuity. Continuity means the transfer of an inheritance—a legacy. Scripture tells us explicitly that the choices of parents have repercussions down to the third and fourth generations (Exodus 20:5). Therefore, the sanctions of the covenant were never intended to terminate with
