Freedom, at least in Jesus’ mind, is the ability to do whatever you should. To enjoy the world as God intended. To live fully awake and alive. That’s why the message about Jesus is good news. Because Jesus is king, not Aphrodite. He has the power to sweep the legs out from under every Pharaoh on earth. In him we can live free. It was Jesus who said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”18 My prayer for my generation is that we will find freedom in the saving power of Jesus.
