some similarity between God’s wholehearted love and our wholehearted loving obedience, Christ cannot manifest himself to us, God cannot abide in us, and we cannot abide in His love. We find in the book of Acts two messages of Peter’s that show how our Lord’s teaching had become a part of him. (1) ‘‘We ought to obey God rather than men’’ (5:29). (2) ‘‘And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him’’ (5:32). Full obedience is faithfulness
