What you believe to be true (whether or not it actually is true), forms an interpretative lens over what we perceive about ourselves, our lives, God, and what happens to us. Belief defines reality for us. For example, as we saw in chapter 4, a person with a proud and selfish heart believes that he is entitled to have his needs met first. He believes that he is better than others are. Because of that mind-set, when his wife
