Our teens must begin to shift from a dependence upon our faith to their own more personal dependence upon God. And this shift will likely involve some questioning. It may be hard for the teen who assumes he’s being disloyal or who feels shame for questioning. It can also be an intentional ploy of a rebellious teen to get at his parents. Our kids have to know that there is nothing wrong with questioning. We must give them room to question, but we must challenge them to pursue the answers as well.
