Isaiah 44:9–11 — English Standard Version (ESV)

All who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. 10 Who fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing? 11 Behold, all his companions shall be put to shame, and the craftsmen are only human. Let them all assemble, let them stand forth. They shall be terrified; they shall be put to shame together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

They that make a graven image are all of them vanity;

And their delectable things shall not profit;

And they are their own witnesses;

They see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image

That is profitable for nothing?

11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed:

And the workmen, they are of men:

Let them all be gathered together, let them stand up;

Yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)

How foolish are those who manufacture idols.

These prized objects are really worthless.

The people who worship idols don’t know this,

so they are all put to shame.

10 Who but a fool would make his own god—

an idol that cannot help him one bit?

11 All who worship idols will be disgraced

along with all these craftsmen—mere humans—

who claim they can make a god.

They may all stand together,

but they will stand in terror and shame.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Those who make an image, all of them are useless,

And their precious things shall not profit;

They are their own witnesses;

They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.

10 Who would form a god or mold an image

That profits him nothing?

11 Surely all his companions would be ashamed;

And the workmen, they are mere men.

Let them all be gathered together,

Let them stand up;

Yet they shall fear,

They shall be ashamed together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

Some people make idols, but they are worth nothing.

People treasure them, but they are useless.

Those people are witnesses for the statues, but those people cannot see.

They know nothing, so they will be ashamed.

10 Who made these gods?

Who made these useless idols?

11 The workmen who made them will be ashamed,

because they are only human.

If they all would come together,

they would all be ashamed and afraid.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)

They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity; and the things that they delight in shall not profit; and their own witnesses see not, nor know: that they may be put to shame. 10 Who hath fashioned a god, or molten an image that is profitable for nothing? 11 Behold, all his fellows shall be put to shame; and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; they shall fear, they shall be put to shame together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

They that form a graven image are all of them vanity, and their delectable things are of no profit; and they are their own witnesses: they see not, nor know; —that they may be ashamed. 10 Who hath formed a •god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing? 11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed; and the workmen are but men. Let them all be gathered together, let them stand up: they shall fear, they shall be ashamed together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

All who make idols are nothing. Their precious treasures are worthless. Their own witnesses do not see or know anything, so they will be put to shame. 10 Nothing comes from making gods or casting metal idols. 11 Everyone associated with the gods will be put to shame. The craftsmen themselves are only human. Let them all get together and take their stand. They will be frightened and ashamed together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

All who make idols are nothing,

and what they treasure does not profit.

Their witnesses do not see or know anything,

so they will be put to shame.

10 Who makes a god or casts a metal image

for no profit?

11 Look, all its worshipers will be put to shame,

and the craftsmen are humans.

They all will assemble and stand;

they all will be startled and put to shame.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit; their witnesses neither see nor know. And so they will be put to shame. 10 Who would fashion a god or cast an image that can do no good? 11 Look, all its devotees shall be put to shame; the artisans too are merely human. Let them all assemble, let them stand up; they shall be terrified, they shall all be put to shame.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

All those who form an idol are nothing,

and their delightful things do not profit.

And their witnesses do not see or know,

so they will be ashamed.

10 Who would form a god

and cast an image of which he cannot profit?

11 Look! all his companions shall be ashamed,

and the artisans are human!

Let all of them assemble;

let them stand up.

They shall tremble;

they shall be ashamed together.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

Those who make statues of gods don’t amount to anything.

And the statues they think so much of are worthless.

Those who would speak up for them are blind.

They don’t know anything.

So they will be put to shame.

10 People make statues of gods.

But those gods can’t do them any good.

11 People like that will be put to shame.

Those who make statues of gods are mere men.

Let all of them come together and state their case.

They will be terrified and put to shame.

Isaiah 44:9–11 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame.

10 Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit?

11 Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.
