²⁵Three times I was beaten with rods,^a once I was pelted with stones,^b three times I was shipwrecked,^c I spent a night and a day in the open sea,

Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea;
