27gThen the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the hgovernor’s headquarters,4 and they gathered the whole ibattalion5 before him. 28And they stripped him and put ja scarlet robe on him, 29and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. King of the Jews!” And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it.
