Jeremiah 23:9–11 — New International Version (2011) (NIV)
9 Concerning the prophets:
My heart is broken within me;
all my bones tremble.
I am like a drunken man,
like a strong man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord
and his holy words.
10 The land is full of adulterers;
because of the curse the land lies parched
and the pastures in the wilderness are withered.
The prophets follow an evil course
and use their power unjustly.
11 “Both prophet and priest are godless;
even in my temple I find their wickedness,”
declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
9 Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets;
All my bones shake;
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine hath overcome,
Because of the Lord, and because of the words of his holiness.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
For because of swearing the land mourneth;
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up,
And their course is evil, and their force is not right.
11 For both prophet and priest are profane;
Yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — New Living Translation (NLT)
9 My heart is broken because of the false prophets,
and my bones tremble.
I stagger like a drunkard,
like someone overcome by wine,
because of the holy words
the Lord has spoken against them.
10 For the land is full of adultery,
and it lies under a curse.
The land itself is in mourning—
its wilderness pastures are dried up.
For they all do evil
and abuse what power they have.
11 “Even the priests and prophets
are ungodly, wicked men.
I have seen their despicable acts
right here in my own Temple,”
says the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
9 My heart within me is broken
Because of the prophets;
All my bones shake.
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of the Lord,
And because of His holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
For because of a curse the land mourns.
The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right.
11 “For both prophet and priest are profane;
Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — New Century Version (NCV)

My heart is broken.
All my bones shake.
I’m like someone who is drunk,
like someone who has been overcome with wine.
This is because of the Lord
and his holy words.
10 The land of Judah is full of people who are guilty of adultery.
Because of this, the Lord cursed the land.
It has become a very sad place,
and the pastures have dried up.
The people are evil
and use their power in the wrong way.
11 “Both the prophets and the priests live as if there were no God.
I have found them doing evil things even in my own Temple,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — American Standard Version (ASV)
9 Concerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Jehovah, and because of his holy words. 10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right; 11 for both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
9 Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome; because of Jehovah, and because of the words of his holiness. 10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of execration the land mourneth. The pastures of the wilderness are dried up; for their course is evil, and their force is not right. 11 For both prophet and priest are profane: even in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

I am deeply disturbed.
All my bones tremble.
I am like a drunk,
like a person who has had too much wine,
because of the Lord and his holy words.
10 The land is filled with adulterers.
The land mourns because of the curse.
Pastures in the wilderness have dried up.
The people are evil,
and they use their strength to do the wrong things.
11 The prophets and priests are godless.
Even in my temple I’ve found them doing evil,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
9 Concerning the prophets:
My heart is broken within me,
and all my bones tremble.
I have become like a drunkard,
like a man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord,
because of His holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
the land mourns because of the curse,
and the grazing lands in the wilderness have dried up.
Their way of life has become evil,
and their power is not rightly used
11 because both prophet and priest are ungodly,
even in My house I have found their evil.
This is the Lord’s declaration.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

My heart is broken in my midst.
All my bones tremble.
I have become like a drunken man,
even like a man over whom wine has passed,
because of Yahweh,
and because of his holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
for the land mourns because of a curse.
The pastures of the desert are dry,
and their evil has been their way of running,
and their power is not right.
11 “For both prophet as well as priest are godless,
even in my temple I have found their wickedness,” declares Yahweh.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
9 Here is my message about the prophets.
My heart is broken inside me.
All of my bones tremble with fear.
I am like a man who is drunk.
I am like someone who has had too much wine.
That’s what the Lord’s holy words
have done to me.
10 The land is full of people
who aren’t faithful to the Lord.
Now the land is under his curse.
And that’s why it is thirsty for water.
That’s why the grasslands in the desert are dry.
The prophets are leading sinful lives.
They don’t use their power in the right way.
11 “Prophets and priests alike are ungodly,”
announces the Lord.
“Even in my temple I find them sinning.
Jeremiah 23:9–11 — New American Standard Bible (1995) (NASB95)
9 As for the prophets:
My heart is broken within me,
All my bones tremble;
I have become like a drunken man,
Even like a man overcome with wine,
Because of the Lord
And because of His holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
For the land mourns because of the curse.
The pastures of the wilderness have dried up.
Their course also is evil
And their might is not right.
11 “For both prophet and priest are polluted;
Even in My house I have found their wickedness,” declares the Lord.
