12 The Lord Almighty has a day in store

for all the proud and lofty,

for all that is exalted

(and they will be humbled),

13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty,

and all the oaks of Bashan,

14 for all the towering mountains

and all the high hills,

15 for every lofty tower

and every fortified wall,

16 for every trading ship

and every stately vessel.

12 For the Lord of hosts has a day

against all that is proud and lofty,

against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;

13 against all the cedars of Lebanon,

lofty and lifted up;

and against all the oaks of Bashan;

14 against all the lofty mountains,

and against all the uplifted hills;

15 against every high tower,

and against every fortified wall;

16 against all the ships of Tarshish,

and against all the beautiful craft.

12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty,

And upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up,

And upon all the oaks of Bashan,

14 And upon all the high mountains,

And upon all the hills that are lifted up,

15 And upon every high tower,

And upon every fenced wall,

16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish,

And upon all pleasant pictures.

12 For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

has a day of reckoning.

He will punish the proud and mighty

and bring down everything that is exalted.

13 He will cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon

and all the mighty oaks of Bashan.

14 He will level all the high mountains

and all the lofty hills.

15 He will break down every high tower

and every fortified wall.

16 He will destroy all the great trading ships

and every magnificent vessel.

12 For the day of the Lord of hosts

Shall come upon everything proud and lofty,

Upon everything lifted up—

And it shall be brought low—

13 Upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up,

And upon all the oaks of Bashan;

14 Upon all the high mountains,

And upon all the hills that are lifted up;

15 Upon every high tower,

And upon every fortified wall;

16 Upon all the ships of Tarshish,

And upon all the beautiful sloops.

12 The Lord All-Powerful has a certain day planned

when he will punish the proud and those who brag,

and they will no longer be important.

13 He will bring down the tall cedar trees from Lebanon

and the great oak trees of Bashan,

14 all the tall mountains

and the high hills,

15 every tall tower

and every high, strong wall,

16 all the trading ships

and the beautiful ships.

12 For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low; 13 and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, 14 and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, 15 and upon every lofty tower, and upon every fortified wall, 16 and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant imagery.

12 For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon everything proud and lofty, and upon everything lifted up, and it shall be brought low; 13 and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan; 14 and upon all the lofty mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up; 15 and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall; 16 and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant works of art.

12 The Lord of Armies will have his day 

against all who are arrogant and conceited 

and all who are proud of themselves (they will be humbled), 

13 against all the towering and mighty cedars of Lebanon 

and all the oaks of Bashan, 

14 against all the high mountains 

and all the lofty hills, 

15 against every high tower 

and every fortified wall, 

16 against all the large ships of Tarshish 

and all the beautiful boats. 

12 For a day belonging to the Lord of Hosts is coming

against all that is proud and lofty,

against all that is lifted up—it will be humbled—

13 against all the cedars of Lebanon,

lofty and lifted up,

against all the oaks of Bashan,

14 against all the high mountains,

against all the lofty hills,

15 against every high tower,

against every fortified wall,

16 against every ship of Tarshish,

and against every splendid sea vessel.

12 For the Lord of hosts has a day

against all that is proud and lofty,

against all that is lifted up and high;

13 against all the cedars of Lebanon,

lofty and lifted up;

and against all the oaks of Bashan;

14 against all the high mountains,

and against all the lofty hills;

15 against every high tower,

and against every fortified wall;

16 against all the ships of Tarshish,

and against all the beautiful craft.

12 For there is a day for Yahweh of hosts

against all of the proud and the lofty

and against all that is lifted up and humble,

13 and against all the lofty and lifted up cedars of Lebanon,

and against all the large trees of Bashan,

14 and against all the high mountains,

and against all the lofty hills,

15 and against every kind of high tower,

and against every kind of fortified wall,

16 and against all the ships of Tarshish,

and against all the ships of desire.

12 The Lord who rules over all has set apart a day when he will judge.

He has set it apart for all those who are proud and think they are important.

He has set it apart for all those who brag about themselves.

All of them will be brought low.

13 The Lord has set that day apart for all of the cedar trees in Lebanon.

They are very tall.

He has set it apart for all of the oak trees in Bashan.

14 He has set it apart for all of the towering mountains.

He has set it apart for all of the high hills.

15 He has set it apart for every high tower

and every strong wall.

16 He has set it apart for every trading ship

and every beautiful boat.

12 For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning

Against everyone who is proud and lofty

And against everyone who is lifted up,

That he may be abased.

13 And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up,

Against all the oaks of Bashan,

14 Against all the lofty mountains,

Against all the hills that are lifted up,

15 Against every high tower,

Against every fortified wall,

16 Against all the ships of Tarshish

And against all the beautiful craft.
