Give praise, servants of the Lord;
praise the name of the Lord.ae
2 Let the name of the Lord be blessed
both now and forever.af
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting,
let the name of the Lord be praised.ag
4 The Lord is exalted above all the nations,ah
his glory above the heavens.ai
5 Who is like the Lord our God—
the one enthroned on high,aj
on the heavens and the earth?ak
7 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the trash heapal
8 in order to seat them with nobles—
with the nobles of his people.am
9 He gives the childless woman a household,
making her the joyful mother of children.an

the house of Jacob from a people
who spoke a foreign languageao—
Israel, his dominion.ap
3 The sea looked and fled;a
the Jordan turned back.b
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills, like lambs.c
5 Why was it, sea, that you fled?
Jordan, that you turned back?d
6 Mountains, that you skipped like rams?
Hills, like lambs?e
7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,f
8 who turned the rock into a pool,
the flint into a spring.g
