Psalm 118:1–14

^aO give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:

Because his mercy endureth for ever.

^2bLet Israel now say,

That his mercy endureth for ever.

^3bLet the house of Aaron now say,

That his mercy endureth for ever.

^4bLet them now ^cthat fear the Lord say,

That his mercy endureth for ever.

^5dI called upon the ^eLord in ^fdistress:

The ^eLord answered me, and ^gset me in ^ha large place.

⁶ⁱThe Lord is on my side; ^jI will not fear:

What can man do unto me?

^7kThe Lord taketh my part with them that help me:

Therefore shall ^lI see my desire upon them that hate me.

⁸It is better to ^mtrust in the Lord

Than to put confidence in man.

⁹It is better to ^mtrust in the Lord

Than to put confidence in ⁿprinces.

¹⁰All nations ^ocompassed me about:

But in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.

^11oThey compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about:

But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

^12oThey compassed me about ^plike bees;

They are quenched ^qas the fire of thorns:

For in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.

¹³Thou hast ^rthrust sore at me that I might fall:

But the Lord helped me.

¹⁴The ^seLord is my strength and song,

And ^stis become my salvation.
