Therefore aleaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto cperfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance dfrom dead works, and of faith towards God, 2eof the doctrine of baptisms, and fof laying on of hands, and gof resurrection of the dead, and ghof ieternal judgment. 3And this will we do, kif God permit. 4For lit is mimpossible for those who were once nenlightened, and have tasted of othe heavenly gift, and pwere made partakers of sthe Holy Ghost, 5and qhave tasted rthe good word of God, and sthe powers of tthe world to come, 6if they shall ttfall away, to renew them again uunto repentance; vseeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and wput him to an open shame. 7For the earth xwhich drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs ymeet zfor them by whom it is dressed, xreceiveth blessing from God: 8but athat which beareth thorns and briers is brejected, and is bbnigh unto ccursing; ccwhose end is to be burned.
9But, beloved, we are persuaded dbetter things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 10ddFor eGod is not unrighteous fto forget your work and fglabour of love, which hye have shewed toward his name, in that iye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11And we desire that every one of you do hshew the same kdiligence to lthe full assurance of mhope unto the end: 12that ye be not nslothful, but nnfollowers of them who through faith and patience inherit opthe promises. 13For owhen God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, qhe sware by himself, 14saying, rSurely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15And so, pafter he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16For men verily swear by the greater: and san oath for tconfirmation is to them an end of all ustrife. 17Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto vthe heirs of xpromise wthe immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by xan oath: 18that by xtwo wimmutable things, in which it was yimpossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon mthe hope zset before us: 19which hope we have as aan anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and bwhich entereth into that within cthe vail; 20whither dthe forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made ea high priest ffor ever after the order of Melchisedec.
