6 I remembered my songs in the night.

My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

7 “Will the Lord reject forever?

Will he never show his favor again?

8 Has his unfailing love vanished forever?

Has his promise failed for all time?

9 Has God forgotten to be merciful?

Has he in anger withheld his compassion?”

10 Then I thought, “To this I will appeal:

the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;

yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

6 I said, “Let me remember my song in the night;

let me meditate in my heart.”

Then my spirit made a diligent search:

7 “Will the Lord spurn forever,

and never again be favorable?

8 Has his steadfast love forever ceased?

Are his promises at an end for all time?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious?

Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah

10 Then I said, “I will appeal to this,

to the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;

yes, I will remember your wonders of old.

6 I call to remembrance my song in the night:

I commune with mine own heart:

And my spirit made diligent search.

7 Will the Lord cast off for ever?

And will he be favourable no more?

8 Is his mercy clean gone for ever?

Doth his promise fail for evermore?

9 Hath God forgotten to be gracious?

Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

10 And I said, This is my infirmity:

But I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

11 I will remember the works of the Lord:

Surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

6 when my nights were filled with joyful songs.

I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

7 Has the Lord rejected me forever?

Will he never again be kind to me?

8 Is his unfailing love gone forever?

Have his promises permanently failed?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious?

Has he slammed the door on his compassion?

10 And I said, “This is my fate;

the Most High has turned his hand against me.”

11 But then I recall all you have done, O Lord;

I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.

11 I will remember the works of the Lord;

Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.

6 At night I remember my songs.

I think and I ask myself:

7 “Will the Lord reject us forever?

Will he never be kind to us again?

8 Is his love gone forever?

Has he stopped speaking for all time?

9 Has God forgotten mercy?

Is he too angry to pity us?”

10 Then I say “This is what makes me sad:

For years the power of God Most High was with us.”

11 I remember what the Lord did;

I remember the miracles you did long ago.

6 I remember my song in the night; I muse in mine own heart, and my spirit maketh diligent search. 7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? 8 Hath his loving-kindness ceased for ever? hath his word come to an end from generation to generation? 9 Hath •God forgotten to be gracious? or hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. 10 Then said I, This is my weakness: —the years of the right hand of the Most High

11 Will I remember, —the works of Jah; for I will remember thy wonders of old,

and reflect ⸤on it⸥. 

My spirit searches ⸤for an answer⸥: 

7 Will the Lord reject ⸤me⸥ for all time? 

Will he ever accept me? 

8 Has his mercy come to an end forever? 

Has his promise been canceled throughout every generation? 

9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? 

Has he locked up his compassion because of his anger? Selah 

10 Then I said, “It makes me feel sick 

that the power of the Most High is no longer the same.” 

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord. 

I will remember your ancient miracles. 

6 At night I remember my music;

I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

7 “Will the Lord reject forever

and never again show favor?

8 Has His faithful love ceased forever?

Is His promise at an end for all generations?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious?

Has He in anger withheld His compassion?” Selah

10 So I say, “I am grieved

that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

11 I will remember the Lord’s works;

yes, I will remember Your ancient wonders.

8 Has his loyal love ceased forever?

Is his promise ended throughout generations?

9 Has God forgotten to have compassion?

Or has he closed off his mercies in anger? Selah

10 So I said, “This pierces me—

the right hand of the Most High has changed.”

11 I will remember the deeds of Yah.

Surely I will remember your wonders from long ago.

6 I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night.

I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

7 “Will the Lord turn away from us forever?

Won’t he ever show us his kindness again?

8 Has his faithful love disappeared forever?

Has his promise failed for all time?

9 Has God forgotten to show us his favor?

Has he held back his tender love because he was angry?” Selah

10 Then I thought, “Here is what I will make my appeal to.

For many years the Most High God showed how powerful his right hand is.”

11 Lord, I will remember what you did.

Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

6 I will remember my song in the night;

I will meditate with my heart,

And my spirit ponders:

7 Will the Lord reject forever?

And will He never be favorable again?

8 Has His lovingkindness ceased forever?

Has His promise come to an end forever?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious,

Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion?

11 I shall remember the deeds of the Lord;

Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
