Elah, King of Israel (אֵלָה, elah). The son of Baasha who became the fourth king of Israel. He took the throne when Asa had ruled over Judah for 26 years, and he reigned for only two years, 886–885 bc. He was killed by a military official, Zimri, who succeeded him as king (1 Kgs 16:6–14).
