Matthew 21:3–4 — The New International Version (NIV)

If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

Matthew 21:3–4 — English Standard Version (ESV)

If anyone says anything to you, you shall say,The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,

Matthew 21:3–4 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

Matthew 21:3–4 — New Living Translation (NLT)

If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.”

This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said,

Matthew 21:3–4 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say,The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

Matthew 21:3–4 — New Century Version (NCV)

If anyone asks you why you are taking the donkeys, say that the Master needs them, and he will send them at once.”

This was to bring about what the prophet had said:

Matthew 21:3–4 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

Matthew 21:3–4 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

And if any one say anything to you, ye shall say, The Lord has need of them, and straightway he will send them. But all this came to pass, that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

Matthew 21:3–4 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them. That person will send them at once.”

This happened so that what the prophet had said came true:

Matthew 21:3–4 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

If anyone says anything to you, you should say that the Lord needs them, and immediately he will send them.”

This took place so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:

Matthew 21:3–4 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

And if anyone says anything to you, you will say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” Now this took place so that what was spoken through the prophet would be fulfilled, saying,

Matthew 21:3–4 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them. The owner will send them right away.”

This took place so that what was spoken through the prophet would come true. It says,

Matthew 21:3–4 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

If anyone says anything to you, you shall say,The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
