Micah 7:1

The Total Corruption of the People

7 Woe is me! For I have become like one who,

after the summer fruit has been gathered,

after the vintage has been gleaned,

finds no cluster to eat;

there is no first-ripe fig for which I hunger.

Micah 7:1 — The New International Version (NIV)

What misery is mine!

I am like one who gathers summer fruit

at the gleaning of the vineyard;

there is no cluster of grapes to eat,

none of the early figs that I crave.

Micah 7:1 — English Standard Version (ESV)

Woe is me! For I have become

as when the summer fruit has been gathered,

as when the grapes have been gleaned:

there is no cluster to eat,

no first-ripe fig that my soul desires.

Micah 7:1 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits,

As the grapegleanings of the vintage:

There is no cluster to eat:

My soul desired the firstripe fruit.

Micah 7:1 — New Living Translation (NLT)

How miserable I am!

I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest

who can find nothing to eat.

Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig

can be found to satisfy my hunger.

Micah 7:1 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

Woe is me!

For I am like those who gather summer fruits,

Like those who glean vintage grapes;

There is no cluster to eat

Of the first-ripe fruit which my soul desires.

Micah 7:1 — New Century Version (NCV)

Poor me! I am like a hungry man,

and all the summer fruit has been picked—

there are no grapes left to eat,

none of the early figs I love.

Micah 7:1 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; my soul desireth the first-ripe fig.

Micah 7:1 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer-fruits, as the grape-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; there is no early fruit which my soul desired.

Micah 7:1 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Poor me!

I am like those gathering summer fruit,

like those picking grapes.

But there aren’t any grapes to eat

or any ripened figs that I crave.

Micah 7:1 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

How sad for me!

For I am like one who—

when the summer fruit has been gathered

after the gleaning of the grape harvest —

finds no grape cluster to eat,

no early fig, which I crave.

Micah 7:1 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

Woe is me! For I have become

like the gatherings of summer,

like the gleanings of the grape harvest,

when there is no cluster of grapes to eat

or early ripened fruit that my soul desires.

Micah 7:1 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

I’m suffering very much!

I’m like someone who gathers summer fruit in a vineyard

after the good fruit has already been picked.

No grapes are left to eat.

None of the early figs I long for remain.

Micah 7:1 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

Woe is me! For I am

Like the fruit pickers, like the grape gatherers.

There is not a cluster of grapes to eat,

Or a first-ripe fig which I crave.
