2 you with your own hand drove out the nations,

but them you planted;

you afflicted the peoples,

but them you set free;

2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them;

How thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

The deeds You did in their days,

In days of old:

2 You drove out the nations with Your hand,

But them You planted;

You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.

1 God, we have heard about you.

Our ancestors told us

what you did in their days,

2 With your power you forced the nations out of the land

and placed our ancestors here.

You destroyed those other nations,

but you made our ancestors grow strong.

Our fathers have told us,

2 Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand;

But them thou didst plant:

Thou didst afflict the peoples;

But them thou didst spread abroad.

1 O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, the work thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old: 2 Thou, by thy hand, didst dispossess the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them didst thou cause to spread out.

but them you let spread out.

Those who came before us have told us

2 With your powerful hand you drove out the nations.

You settled our people in the land.

You crushed the people who were there.

And you made our people do well.

The work that You did in their days,
