2 Shake off your dust;

rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem.

Free yourself from the chains on your neck,

Daughter Zion, now a captive.

3 For this is what the Lord says:

“You were sold for nothing,

and without money you will be redeemed.”

4 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“At first my people went down to Egypt to live;

lately, Assyria has oppressed them.

5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the Lord.

“For my people have been taken away for nothing,

and those who rule them mock,”

declares the Lord.

“And all day long

my name is constantly blasphemed.

2 Shake yourself from the dust and arise;

be seated, O Jerusalem;

loose the bonds from your neck,

O captive daughter of Zion.

3 For thus says the Lord: “You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” 4 For thus says the Lord God: “My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there, and the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing. 5 Now therefore what have I here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Their rulers wail,” declares the Lord, “and continually all the day my name is despised.

2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem:

Loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

3 For thus saith the Lord,

Ye have sold yourselves for nought;

And ye shall be redeemed without money.

4 For thus saith the Lord God,

My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there;

And the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord,

That my people is taken away for nought?

They that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord;

And my name continually every day is blasphemed.

2 Shake yourself from the dust, arise;

Sit down, O Jerusalem!

Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck,

O captive daughter of Zion!

3 For thus says the Lord:

“My people went down at first

Into Egypt to dwell there;

Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

5 Now therefore, what have I here,” says the Lord,

“That My people are taken away for nothing?

Those who rule over them

Make them wail,” says the Lord,

“And My name is blasphemed continually every day.

2 Jerusalem, you once were a prisoner.

Now shake off the dust and stand up.

Jerusalem, you once were a prisoner.

Now free yourself from the chains around your neck.

3 This is what the Lord says:

“You were not sold for a price,

so you will be saved without cost.”

4 This is what the Lord God says:

“First my people went down to Egypt to live.

Later Assyria made them slaves.

5 “Now see what has happened,” says the Lord.

“Another nation has taken away my people for nothing.

This nation who rules them makes fun of me,” says the Lord.

“All day long they speak against me.

2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit on thy throne, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

3 For thus saith Jehovah, Ye were sold for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. 4 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah, My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Assyrian hath oppressed them without cause. 5 Now therefore, what do I here, saith Jehovah, seeing that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them do howl, saith Jehovah, and my name continually all the day is blasphemed.

They that rule over them make them to howl, saith Jehovah; and continually all the day is my name scorned.

2 Shake the dust from yourselves. 

Get up, captive Jerusalem. 

Free yourself from the chains around your neck, captive people of Zion. 

3 This is what the Lord says: You were sold, but no price was paid. You will be bought back, but without money. 

4 This is what the Almighty Lord says: In the beginning my people went to Egypt to live there as foreigners. Later the Assyrians oppressed them for no reason. 5 So what do I find here? asks the Lord. My people are taken away for no reason. Their rulers are screaming, declares the Lord. And my name is cursed all day long.

2 Stand up, shake the dust off yourself!

Take your seat, Jerusalem.

Remove the bonds from your neck,

captive Daughter Zion.”

3 For this is what the Lord says:

“You were sold for nothing,

and you will be redeemed without silver.”

4 For this is what the Lord God says:

“At first My people went down to Egypt to live there,

then Assyria oppressed them without cause.

5 So now what have I here”—

this is the Lord’s declaration—

“that My people are taken away for nothing?

Its rulers wail”—

this is the Lord’s declaration—

“and My name is continually blasphemed all day long.

2 Shake yourself from the dust, rise up,

O captive Jerusalem;

loose the bonds from your neck,

O captive daughter Zion!

3 For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money. 4 For thus says the Lord God: Long ago, my people went down into Egypt to reside there as aliens; the Assyrian, too, has oppressed them without cause. 5 Now therefore what am I doing here, says the Lord, seeing that my people are taken away without cause? Their rulers howl, says the Lord, and continually, all day long, my name is despised.

2 Shake yourself free from the dust! Rise up; sit, Jerusalem!

Free yourselves from the bonds of your neck, captive daughter of Zion!

3 For thus says Yahweh:

“You were sold for nothing,

and you shall be redeemed without money.”

4 For thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“My people went down to Egypt in the beginning, to dwell as aliens there, and Assyria oppressed him without cause. 5 And now what do I have here?” declares Yahweh, “for my people is taken without cause. Its rulers howl,” declares Yahweh—“and my name is reviled continually, all day.

2 Get up, Jerusalem! Shake off your dust.

Take your place on your throne.

Captured people of Zion,

remove the chains from your neck.

3 The Lord says,

“When you were sold as slaves, no one paid anything for you.

Now no one will pay any money to set you free.”

4 The Lord and King continues,

“Long ago my people went down to Egypt.

They lived there for a while.

Later, Assyria crushed them without any reason.

5 “Now look at what has happened to them,” announces the Lord.

“Once again my people have been taken away.

And no one paid anything for them.

Those who rule over them brag about it,”

announces the Lord.

“All day long without stopping,

people speak evil things against my name.

5 “Now therefore, what do I have here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that My people have been taken away without cause?” Again the Lord declares, “Those who rule over them howl, and My name is continually blasphemed all day long.
