Numbers 31:40–42

40 16,000 people, of whom the tribute for the Lord was 32.

41 Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the Lord’s part, as the Lord commanded Moses.

42 The half belonging to the Israelites, which Moses set apart from that of the fighting men—

40 The persons were 16,000, of which the Lord’s tribute was 32 persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the contribution for the Lord, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses.

42 From the people of Israel’s half, which Moses separated from that of the men who had served in the army—

40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the Lord’s tribute was thirty and two persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the Lord’s heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses. 42 And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,

40 and 16,000 virgin girls, of whom 32 were the Lord’s share. 41 Moses gave all the Lord’s share to Eleazar the priest, just as the Lord had directed him.

42 Half of the plunder belonged to the people of Israel, and Moses separated it from the half belonging to the fighting men.

40 They got 16,000 people, and they gave 32 of them to the Lord. 41 Moses gave the Lord’s share to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord had commanded him.

42 Moses separated the people’s half from the soldiers’ half.

40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of whom Jehovah’s tribute was thirty and two persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was Jehovah’s heave-offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

42 And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided off from the men that warred

40 and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons. 41 And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah’s heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses. 42 And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses had divided, taking it from the men that served in the war,

40 Of the 16,000 people they received, 32 went to the Lord as taxes. 

41 Moses gave the Lord’s taxes to the priest Eleazar, as the Lord had commanded him. 

42 Moses took the Israelites’ half of the loot from the soldiers.

40 and from the 16,000 people,

the tribute to the Lord was 32 people.

41 Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as a contribution for the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

42 From the Israelites’ half, which Moses separated from the men who fought,

40 The persons were sixteen thousand, of which the Lord’s tribute was thirty-two persons. 41 Moses gave the tribute, the offering for the Lord, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

42 As for the Israelites’ half, which Moses separated from that of the troops,

40 the humans were sixteen thousand, and the tribute to Yahweh was thirty-two persons. 41 And Moses gave away the tribute of the contribution of Yahweh to Eleazar the priest, just as Yahweh commanded Moses.

42 From the half of the Israelites, which Moses divided from the men who were fighting,

40 There were 16,000 women. From among them, the Lord’s gift was 32.

41 Moses gave the gift to the priest Eleazar. It was the Lord’s share. Moses did just as the Lord had commanded him.

42 The other half belonged to the people of Israel. Moses set it apart from what belonged to the fighting men.

40 and the human beings were 16,000, from whom the Lord’s levy was 32 persons.

41 Moses gave the levy which was the Lord’s offering to Eleazar the priest, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

42 As for the sons of Israel’s half, which Moses separated from the men who had gone to war—
