Luke 22:22–24

22 The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” 23 They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.

24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.

22 For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!” 23 And they began to question one another, which of them it could be who was going to do this.

24 A dispute also arose among them, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! 23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

22 For it has been determined that the Son of Man must die. But what sorrow awaits the one who betrays him.” 23 The disciples began to ask each other which of them would ever do such a thing.

24 Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them.

22 What God has planned for the Son of Man will happen, but how terrible it will be for that one who turns against the Son of Man.”

23 Then the apostles asked each other which one of them would do that.

24 The apostles also began to argue about which one of them was the most important.

22 For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed! 23 And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

24 And there arose also a contention among them, which of them was accounted to be greatest.

22 and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up. 23 And they began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this. 24 And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be the greatest.

22 The Son of Man is going to die the way it has been planned for him. But how horrible it will be for that person who betrays him.” 

23 So they began to discuss with each other who could do such a thing. 

24 Then a quarrel broke out among the disciples. They argued about who should be considered the greatest.

22 The Son of Man will go to his death, just as God has already decided. But how terrible it will be for the one who hands him over!”

23 The apostles began to ask each other about this. They wondered which one of them would do it.

24 They also started to argue. They disagreed about which of them was thought to be the most important person.
