Job 21:22–25

22 “Can anyone teach knowledge to God,

since he judges even the highest?

23 One person dies in full vigor,

completely secure and at ease,

24 well nourished in body,

bones rich with marrow.

25 Another dies in bitterness of soul,

never having enjoyed anything good.

22 Will any teach God knowledge,

seeing that he judges those who are on high?

23 One dies in his full vigor,

being wholly at ease and secure,

24 his pails full of milk

and the marrow of his bones moist.

25 Another dies in bitterness of soul,

never having tasted of prosperity.

22 Shall any teach God knowledge?

Seeing he judgeth those that are high.

23 One dieth in his full strength,

Being wholly at ease and quiet.

24 His breasts are full of milk,

And his bones are moistened with marrow.

25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul,

And never eateth with pleasure.

22 “But who can teach a lesson to God,

since he judges even the most powerful?

23 One person dies in prosperity,

completely comfortable and secure,

24 the picture of good health,

vigorous and fit.

25 Another person dies in bitter poverty,

never having tasted the good life.

22 “No one can teach knowledge to God;

he is the one who judges even the most important people.

23 One person dies while he still has all his strength,

feeling completely safe and comfortable.

24 His body was well fed,

and his bones were strong and healthy.

25 But another person dies with an unhappy heart,

never enjoying any happiness.

22 Shall any teach God knowledge,

Seeing he judgeth those that are high?

23 One dieth in his full strength,

Being wholly at ease and quiet:

24 His pails are full of milk,

And the marrow of his bones is moistened.

25 And another dieth in bitterness of soul,

And never tasteth of good.

22 Can any teach •God knowledge? And he it is that judgeth those that are high. 23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet; 24 His sides are full of fat, and the marrow of his bones is moistened; 25 And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath not tasted good:

22 “Can anyone teach God knowledge? 

Can anyone judge the Most High? 

23 One person dies in his prime 

and feels altogether happy and contented. 

24 His stomach is full of milk, 

and his bones are strong and healthy. 

25 Another person, never having tasted happiness, 

dies with a bitter soul. 

22 Can anyone teach God knowledge,

since He judges the exalted ones?

23 One person dies in excellent health,

completely secure and at ease.

24 His body is well fed,

and his bones are full of marrow.

25 Yet another person dies with a bitter soul,

having never tasted prosperity.

22 Will any teach God knowledge,

seeing that he judges those who are on high?

23 One dies in full prosperity,

being wholly at ease and secure,

24 his loins full of milk

and the marrow of his bones moist.

25 Another dies in bitterness of soul,

never having tasted of good.

22 Can anyone teach knowledge to God,

since he himself judges high ones?

23 This one dies in full prosperity,

completely at ease and secure.

24 His vats are full with milk

and the marrow of his bones is moist.

25 Yet another dies with a bitter inner self

and has not tasted prosperity.

22 “Can anyone teach God anything?

After all, he judges even the angels in heaven.

23 Some people die while they are still very strong.

They are completely secure. They have an easy life.

24 They are well fed.

Their bodies are healthy.

25 Others die while their spirits are bitter.

They’ve never enjoyed anything good.

22 “Can anyone teach God knowledge,

In that He judges those on high?

23 “One dies in his full strength,

Being wholly at ease and satisfied;

24 His sides are filled out with fat,

And the marrow of his bones is moist,

25 While another dies with a bitter soul,

Never even tasting anything good.
