James 2:26–3:1

26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

1 Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.

26 Just as a person’s body that does not have a spirit is dead, so faith that does nothing is dead!

1 My brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

1 Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.

26 For as the body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

1 Be not many teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive greater judgment.

26 A body that doesn’t breatheis dead. In the same way faith that does nothing is dead. 

1 Brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers. You know that we who teach will be judged more severely. 

26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

1 Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment,

26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will face stricter judgment.

26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

1 Not many should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we will receive a greater judgment.

26 The body without the spirit is dead. In the same way, faith without good works is dead.

1 My brothers and sisters, most of you shouldn’t want to be teachers. You know that those of us who teach will be held more accountable.

26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

1 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.
