Isaiah 62:2–7 — The New International Version (NIV)

The nations will see your vindication,

and all kings your glory;

you will be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,

a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

No longer will they call you Deserted,

or name your land Desolate.

But you will be called Hephzibah,

and your land Beulah;

for the Lord will take delight in you,

and your land will be married.

As a young man marries a young woman,

so will your Builder marry you;

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,

so will your God rejoice over you.

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;

they will never be silent day or night.

You who call on the Lord,

give yourselves no rest,

and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem

and makes her the praise of the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — English Standard Version (ESV)

The nations shall see your righteousness,

and all the kings your glory,

and you shall be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will give.

You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,

and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

You shall no more be termed Forsaken,

and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,

but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,

and your land Married;

for the Lord delights in you,

and your land shall be married.

For as a young man marries a young woman,

so shall your sons marry you,

and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,

so shall your God rejoice over you.

On your walls, O Jerusalem,

I have set watchmen;

all the day and all the night

they shall never be silent.

You who put the Lord in remembrance,

take no rest,

and give him no rest

until he establishes Jerusalem

and makes it a praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness,

And all kings thy glory:

And thou shalt be called by a new name,

Which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord,

And a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken;

Neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate:

But thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah,

And thy land Beulah:

For the Lord delighteth in thee,

And thy land shall be married.

For as a young man marrieth a virgin,

So shall thy sons marry thee:

And as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride,

So shall thy God rejoice over thee.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem,

Which shall never hold their peace day nor night:

Ye that make mention of the Lord,

Keep not silence, And give him no rest,

Till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — New Living Translation (NLT)

The nations will see your righteousness.

World leaders will be blinded by your glory.

And you will be given a new name

by the Lord’s own mouth.

The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see—

a splendid crown in the hand of God.

Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City”

or “The Desolate Land.”

Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight”

and “The Bride of God,”

for the Lord delights in you

and will claim you as his bride.

Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem,

just as a young man commits himself to his bride.

Then God will rejoice over you

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls;

they will pray day and night, continually.

Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord.

Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work,

until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — New Century Version (NCV)

Jerusalem, the nations will see your goodness,

and all kings will see your glory.

Then you will have a new name,

which the Lord himself will give you.

You will be like a beautiful crown in the Lord’s hand,

like a king’s crown in your God’s hand.

You will never again be called the People that God Left,

nor your land the Land that God Destroyed.

You will be called the People God Loves,

and your land will be called the Bride of God,

because the Lord loves you.

And your land will belong to him as a bride belongs to her husband.

As a young man marries a woman,

so your children will marry your land.

As a man rejoices over his new wife,

so your God will rejoice over you.

Jerusalem, I have put guards on the walls to watch.

They must not be silent day or night.

You people who remind the Lord of your needs in prayer

should never be quiet.

You should not stop praying to him until he builds up Jerusalem

and makes it a city all people will praise.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory, and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land Beulah; for Jehovah delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are Jehovah’s remembrancers, take ye no rest, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

And the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory; and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah will name. And thou shalt be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed, Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed, Desolate: but thou shalt be called, My delight is in her, and thy land, Married; for Jehovah delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. For as a young man marrieth a virgin, shall thy sons marry thee; and with the joy of the bridegroom over the bride, shall thy God rejoice over thee.

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, Jerusalem; all the day and all the night they shall never hold their peace: ye that put Jehovah in remembrance, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

The nations will see your righteousness.

All kings will see your glory.

You will be given a new name

that the Lord will announce.

Then you will be a beautiful crown in the hand of the Lord

a royal crown in the hand of your God.

You will no longer be called Deserted,

and your land will no longer be called Destroyed.

But you will be named My Delight,

and your land will be named Married.

The Lord is delighted with you,

and your land will be married.

As a young man marries a woman,

so your sons will marry you.

As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,

so your God will rejoice over you.

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem.

They will never be silent day or night.

Whoever calls on the Lord, do not give yourselves any rest,

and do not give him any rest until he establishes Jerusalem

and makes it an object of praise throughout the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Nations will see your righteousness

and all kings, your glory.

You will be called by a new name

that the Lord’s mouth will announce.

You will be a glorious crown in the Lord’s hand,

and a royal diadem in the palm of your God.

You will no longer be called Deserted,

and your land will not be called Desolate;

instead, you will be called My Delight is in Her,

and your land Married;

for the Lord delights in you,

and your land will be married.

For as a young man marries a young woman,

so your sons will marry you;

and as a groom rejoices over his bride,

so your God will rejoice over you.

Jerusalem,

I have appointed watchmen on your walls;

they will never be silent, day or night.

There is no rest for you,

who remind the Lord.

Do not give Him rest

until He establishes and makes Jerusalem

the praise of the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

The nations shall see your vindication,

and all the kings your glory;

and you shall be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will give.

You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,

and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

You shall no more be termed Forsaken,

and your land shall no more be termed Desolate;

but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,

and your land Married;

for the Lord delights in you,

and your land shall be married.

For as a young man marries a young woman,

so shall your builder marry you,

and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,

so shall your God rejoice over you.

Upon your walls, O Jerusalem,

I have posted sentinels;

all day and all night

they shall never be silent.

You who remind the Lord,

take no rest,

and give him no rest

until he establishes Jerusalem

and makes it renowned throughout the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

And the nations shall see your righteousness,

and all the kings your glory,

and you will be called a new name

that the mouth of Yahweh will designate.

And you shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of Yahweh,

and a headband of royalty in the hand of your God.

It shall no longer be said of you, “Forsaken,”

and it shall no longer be said of your land, “Desolation!”

but you will be called “My Delight Is In Her,”

and your land, “Married,”

for Yahweh delights in you,

and your land shall be married.

For as a young man marries a virgin,

so shall your sons marry you,

and as is the joy of the bridegroom over the bride,

so shall your God rejoice over you.

I have appointed watchmen upon your walls, Jerusalem;

all day and all night they shall never be silent.

You who profess Yahweh have no rest.

And you must not give him rest until he establishes,

and until he makes Jerusalem an object of praise in the earth.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

Jerusalem, the nations will see

that I have made everything right for you.

All of their kings will see your glory.

You will be called by a new name.

I myself will give it to you.

You will be like a glorious crown in my strong hand.

You will be like a royal crown in my powerful hand.

People will not call you Deserted anymore.

They will no longer name your land Empty.

Instead, you will be called The One the Lord Delights In.

Your land will be named The Married One.

I will take delight in you.

And your land will be like a bride.

As a young man gets married to a young woman,

your people will marry you.

As a groom is happy with his bride,

I will be full of joy over you.”

Jerusalem, I have stationed guards on your walls.

They must never be silent day or night.

You who call out to the Lord

must not give yourselves any rest.

And don’t give him any rest

until he makes Jerusalem secure.

Don’t give him any peace

until people all over the earth praise that city.

Isaiah 62:2–7 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

And all kings your glory;

And you will be called by a new name

Which the mouth of the Lord will designate.

You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,

And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,”

Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”;

But you will be called, “My delight is in her,”

And your land, “Married”;

For the Lord delights in you,

And to Him your land will be married.

For as a young man marries a virgin,

So your sons will marry you;

And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,

So your God will rejoice over you.

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen;

All day and all night they will never keep silent.

You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;

And give Him no rest until He establishes

And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
