Isaiah 61:7–8

7 Instead of your shame

you will receive a double portion,

and instead of disgrace

you will rejoice in your inheritance.

And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,

and everlasting joy will be yours.

8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;

I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

In my faithfulness I will reward my people

and make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion;

instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;

therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;

they shall have everlasting joy.

8 For I the Lord love justice;

I hate robbery and wrong;

I will faithfully give them their recompense,

and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 For your shame ye shall have double;

And for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion:

Therefore in their land they shall possess the double:

Everlasting joy shall be unto them.

8 For I the Lord love judgment,

I hate robbery for burnt offering;

And I will direct their work in truth,

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of shame and dishonor,

you will enjoy a double share of honor.

You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land,

and everlasting joy will be yours.

8 “For I, the Lord, love justice.

I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

I will faithfully reward my people for their suffering

and make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of being ashamed, my people will receive twice as much wealth.

Instead of being disgraced, they will be happy because of what they receive.

They will receive a double share of the land,

so their happiness will continue forever.

8 “I, the Lord, love justice.

I hate stealing and everything that is wrong.

I will be fair and give my people what they should have,

and I will make an agreement with them that will continue forever.

7 Instead of your shame ye shall have double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be unto them. 8 For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of your shame ye shall have double; instead of confusion they shall celebrate with joy their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double; everlasting joy shall be unto them. 8 For I, Jehovah, love judgment, I hate robbery with wrong; and I will give their recompence in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 You will receive a double measure of wealth instead of your shame. 

You will sing about your wealth instead of being disgraced. 

That is why you will have a double measure of wealth in your land. 

You will have everlasting joy. 

8 I, the Lord, love justice. 

I hate robbery and wrongdoing. 

I will faithfully reward my people’s work. 

I will make an everlasting promiseto them. 

7 Because your shame was double,

and they cried out, “Disgrace is their portion,”

therefore, they will possess double in their land,

and eternal joy will be theirs.

8 For I Yahweh love justice;

I hate robbery and injustice;

I will faithfully reward them

and make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Because their shame was double

and dishonor was proclaimed as their lot,

therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;

everlasting joy shall be theirs.

8 For I, the Lord, love justice,

I hate robbery and wrongdoing;

I will faithfully give them their recompense,

and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of your shame, a double portion,

and instead of insult, they will rejoice over their portion.

Therefore they will take a double portion in their land;

they shall possess everlasting joy.

8 For I, Yahweh, love justice,

hate robbery and injustice,

and I will faithfully give their reward,

and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

7 Instead of being put to shame

my people will receive a double share of wealth.

Instead of being dishonored

they will be glad to be in their land.

They will receive a double share of riches there.

And they’ll be filled with joy that will last forever.

8 The Lord says, “I love those who do what is right.

I hate it when people steal and do other sinful things.

So I will be faithful to those who do what is right.

And I will bless them.

I will make a covenant with them

that will last forever.

7 Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,

And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.

Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land,

Everlasting joy will be theirs.

8 For I, the Lord, love justice,

I hate robbery in the burnt offering;

And I will faithfully give them their recompense

And make an everlasting covenant with them.
