Isaiah 43:26–28

26 Review the past for me,

let us argue the matter together;

state the case for your innocence.

27 Your first father sinned;

those I sent to teach you rebelled against me.

28 So I disgraced the dignitaries of your temple;

I consigned Jacob to destruction

and Israel to scorn.

26 Put me in remembrance; let us argue together;

set forth your case, that you may be proved right.

27 Your first father sinned,

and your mediators transgressed against me.

28 Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary,

and deliver Jacob to utter destruction

and Israel to reviling.

26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together:

Declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

27 Thy first father hath sinned,

And thy teachers have transgressed against me.

28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary,

And have given Jacob to the curse,

And Israel to reproaches.

26 Let us review the situation together,

and you can present your case to prove your innocence.

27 From the very beginning, your first ancestor sinned against me;

all your leaders broke my laws.

28 That is why I have disgraced your priests;

I have decreed complete destruction for Jacob

and shame for Israel.

26 But you should remind me.

Let’s meet and decide what is right.

Tell what you have done and show you are right.

27 Your first father sinned,

and your leaders have turned against me.

28 So I will make your holy rulers unholy.

I will bring destruction on the people of Jacob,

and I will let Israel be insulted.”

26 Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: set thou forth thy cause, that thou mayest be justified. 27 Thy first father sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. 28 Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling.

26 Put me in remembrance, let us plead together; rehearse thine own cause, that thou mayest be justified. 27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy mediators have rebelled against me. 28 And I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the ban, and Israel to reproaches.

26 Remind me ⸤of what happened⸥. 

Let us argue our case together. 

State your case so that you can prove you are right. 

27 Your first ancestor sinned, 

and your priests rebelled against me. 

28 That is why I will corrupt the leaders of the holy place. 

I will claim Jacob for destruction. 

I will set up Israel for ridicule. 

26 Take Me to court; let us argue our case together.

State your case, so that you may be vindicated.

27 Your first father sinned,

and your mediators have rebelled against Me.

28 So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary,

and set Jacob apart for destruction

and Israel for abuse.

26 Accuse me; let us go to trial;

set forth your case, so that you may be proved right.

27 Your first ancestor sinned,

and your mediators rebelled against me.

28 Therefore I profaned the princes of the sanctuary;

I delivered Jacob to utter destruction

and Israel to reviling.

26 Take me to court; let us enter into judgment together.

You, make an account so that you may be in the right.

27 Your first ancestor sinned,

and your representatives transgressed against me.

28 And I profaned the princes of the sanctuary,

and I gave Jacob to destruction, and Israel to reviling.

26 But let us go to court together.

Remind me of what you have done.

State your case.

Prove to me that you are not guilty.

27 Your father Jacob sinned.

Your priests and prophets refused to obey me.

28 So I will put the high officials of your temple to shame.

I will let Jacob’s family be totally destroyed.

And I will let people make fun of Israel.

26 “Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together;

27 “Your first forefather sinned,

And your spokesmen have transgressed against Me.

28 “So I will pollute the princes of the sanctuary,

And I will consign Jacob to the ban and Israel to revilement.
