16 The Lord says,

“The women of Zion are haughty,

walking along with outstretched necks,

flirting with their eyes,

strutting along with swaying hips,

with ornaments jingling on their ankles.

17 Therefore the Lord will bring sores on the heads of the women of Zion;

the Lord will make their scalps bald.”

18 In that day the Lord will snatch away their finery: the bangles and headbands and crescent necklaces, 19 the earrings and bracelets and veils, 20 the headdresses and anklets and sashes, the perfume bottles and charms, 21 the signet rings and nose rings,

16 The Lord said:

Because the daughters of Zion are haughty

and walk with outstretched necks,

glancing wantonly with their eyes,

mincing along as they go,

tinkling with their feet,

17 therefore the Lord will strike with a scab

the heads of the daughters of Zion,

and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents; 19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves; 20 the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; 21 the signet rings and nose rings;

16 Moreover the Lord saith,

Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,

And walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes,

Walking and mincing as they go,

And making a tinkling with their feet:

17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion,

And the Lord will discover their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet,

And their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands,

And the tablets, and the earrings,

21 The rings, and nose jewels,

16 The Lord says, “Beautiful Zion is haughty:

craning her elegant neck,

flirting with her eyes,

walking with dainty steps,

tinkling her ankle bracelets.

17 So the Lord will send scabs on her head;

the Lord will make beautiful Zion bald.”

18 On that day of judgment

the Lord will strip away everything that makes her beautiful:

ornaments, headbands, crescent necklaces,

19 earrings, bracelets, and veils;

20 scarves, ankle bracelets, sashes,

perfumes, and charms;

21 rings, jewels,

16 The Lord says,

“The women of Jerusalem are proud.

They walk around with their heads held high,

and they flirt with their eyes.

They take quick, short steps,

making noise with their ankle bracelets.”

17 So the Lord will put sores on the heads of those women in Jerusalem,

and he will make them lose their hair.

18 At that time the Lord will take away everything that makes them proud: their beautiful ankle bracelets, their headbands, their necklaces shaped like the moon, 19 their earrings, bracelets, and veils, 20 their scarves, ankle chains, the cloth belts worn around their waists, their bottles of perfume, and charms, 21 their signet rings, nose rings,

16 Moreover Jehovah said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet; 17 therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will lay bare their secret parts. 18 In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, and the cauls, and the crescents; 19 the pendants, and the bracelets, and the mufflers; 20 the headtires, and the ankle chains, and the sashes, and the perfume-boxes, and the amulets; 21 the rings, and the nose-jewels;

16 And Jehovah said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-out neck and wanton eyes, and go along mincing, and making a tinkling with their feet; 17 therefore the Lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will lay bare their secret parts. 18 In that day the Lord will take away the ornament of anklets, and the little suns and crescents, 19 the pearl-drops, and the bracelets, and the veils, 20 the head-dresses, and the stepping chains, and the girdles, and the scent-boxes, and the amulets; 21 the finger-rings, and the nose-rings;

16 The Lord adds, 

“The women of Zion are arrogant. 

They walk with their noses in the air, 

making seductive glances, 

taking short little steps, 

jingling the ankle bracelets on their feet.” 

17 The Lord will cause sores ⸤to appear⸥ 

on the heads of the women of Zion, 

and the Lord will make their foreheads bare. 

18 On that day the Lord will take away their fine things: jingling anklets, headbands, crescent-shaped necklaces, 19 pendants, bracelets, scarfs, 20 hats, ankle bracelets, blouses, perfume boxes, charms, 21 signet rings, nose rings,

16 The Lord also says:

walking with heads held high

and seductive eyes,

going along with prancing steps,

jingling their ankle bracelets,

17 the Lord will put scabs on the heads

of the daughters of Zion,

and the Lord will shave their foreheads bare.

18 On that day the Lord will strip their finery: ankle bracelets, headbands, crescents, 19 pendants, bracelets, veils, 20 headdresses, ankle jewelry, sashes, perfume bottles, amulets, 21 signet rings, nose rings,

16 The Lord said:

17 the Lord will afflict with scabs

the heads of the daughters of Zion,

and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents; 19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarfs; 20 the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets; 21 the signet rings and nose rings;

16 And Yahweh said: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,

and they walk with outstretched neck,

and they give flirting glances with their eyes,

mincing along as they go,

and with their feet they rattle their bangles,

17 the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion scabby,

and Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare.”

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets

and the headbands and the crescent necklaces,

19 the pendants and the bracelets and the veils,

20 the headdresses and the armlets and the sashes,

and the perfume boxes and the amulets,

21 the signet rings and the nose rings,

16 The Lord continues,

“The women in Zion are very proud.

They walk along with their noses in the air.

They tease men with their eyes.

They walk with quick, short steps.

Little chains jingle on their ankles.

17 So I will put sores on the heads of Zion’s women.

And I will remove the hair from their heads.”

18 At that time the Lord will take away the beautiful things they wear. He will take away their decorations, headbands and moon-shaped necklaces. 19 He’ll take away their earrings, bracelets and veils. 20 He’ll remove their headdresses, ankle chains and belts. He’ll take away their perfume bottles and charms. 21 He’ll remove the rings they wear on their fingers and in their noses.

16 Moreover, the Lord said, “Because the daughters of Zion are proud

And walk with heads held high and seductive eyes,

And go along with mincing steps

And tinkle the bangles on their feet,

17 Therefore the Lord will afflict the scalp of the daughters of Zion with scabs,

And the Lord will make their foreheads bare.”

18 In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, headbands, crescent ornaments,

19 dangling earrings, bracelets, veils,

20 headdresses, ankle chains, sashes, perfume boxes, amulets,

21 finger rings, nose rings,
