Hosea 4:3–4
Hosea 4:3–4 — New International Version (2011) (NIV)
3 Because of this the land dries up,
and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
and the fish in the sea are swept away.
4 “But let no one bring a charge,
let no one accuse another,
for your people are like those
who bring charges against a priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — English Standard Version (ESV)
3 Therefore the land mourns,
and all who dwell in it languish,
and also the beasts of the field
and the birds of the heavens,
and even the fish of the sea are taken away.
4 Yet let no one contend,
and let none accuse,
for with you is my contention, O priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
3 Therefore shall the land mourn,
And every one that dwelleth therein shall languish,
With the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven;
Yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another:
For thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — New Living Translation (NLT)
3 That is why your land is in mourning,
and everyone is wasting away.
Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky,
and the fish of the sea are disappearing.
4 “Don’t point your finger at someone else
and try to pass the blame!
My complaint, you priests,
is with you.
Hosea 4:3–4 — New Century Version (NCV)
3 Because of this the land dries up,
and all its people are dying.
Even the wild animals and the birds of the air
and the fish of the sea are dying.
4 “No one should accuse
or blame another person.
Don’t blame the people, you priests,
when they quarrel with you.
Hosea 4:3–4 — American Standard Version (ASV)
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 4 Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
3 For this shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowl of the heavens, yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 4 Yet let no man strive, and let no man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
3 That is why the land is drying up,
and everyone who lives in it is passing away.
Wild animals, birds, and fish are dying.
4 “No one should accuse other people or bring charges against them.
My case is against you priests.
Hosea 4:3–4 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
3 For this reason the land mourns,
and everyone who lives in it languishes,
along with the wild animals and the birds of the sky;
even the fish of the sea disappear.
4 But let no one dispute; let no one argue,
for My case is against you priests.
Hosea 4:3–4 — New Revised Standard Version: Updated Edition (NRSVue)
3 Therefore the land mourns,
and all who live in it languish;
together with the wild animals
and the birds of the air,
even the fish of the sea are perishing.
4 Yet let no one contend,
and let none accuse,
for with you is my contention, O priest.
Hosea 4:3–4 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
3 Therefore the land mourns,
and all those living in it languish
with the animals of the field,
and the birds of the heaven,
and even the fish of the sea
are being swept away.
4 Yet, let no one contend,
and let no one accuse,
for with you, O priest, is my contention.
Hosea 4:3–4 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
3 That is why the land is drying up.
All those who live in it
are getting weaker and weaker.
The wild animals and the birds of the air are dying.
So are the fish in the ocean.
4 “But you priests should not blame the people.
You should not find fault with one another.
After all, your people
could also bring charges against you.
Hosea 4:3–4 — New American Standard Bible (1995) (NASB95)
3 Therefore the land mourns,
And everyone who lives in it languishes
Along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky,
And also the fish of the sea disappear.
4 Yet let no one find fault, and let none offer reproof;
For your people are like those who contend with the priest.
