Genesis 9:6–9

6 “Whoever sheds human blood,

by humans shall their blood be shed;

for in the image of God

has God made mankind.

7 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”

8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you

6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man,

by man shall his blood be shed,

for God made man in his own image.

7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.”

8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you,

6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

6 If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. 7 Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.”

8 Then God told Noah and his sons, 9 “I hereby confirm my covenant with you and your descendants,

6 “Whoever kills a human being

will be killed by a human being,

because God made humans

in his own image.

7 “As for you, Noah, I want you and your family to have many children, to grow in number on the earth, and to become many.”

8 Then God said to Noah and his sons, 9 “Now I am making my agreement with you and your people who will live after you,

8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

8 And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

6 Whoever sheds human blood, 

by humans his blood will be shed, 

because in the image of God, God made humans. 

7 Be fertile, and increase in number. Spread over the earth, and increase.” 

8 God also said to Noah and his sons, 9 “I am going to make my promiseto you, your descendants,

6 Whoever sheds man’s blood,

his blood will be shed by man,

for God made man in His image.

7 But you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out over the earth and multiply on it.”

8 Then God said to Noah and his sons with him, 9 “Understand that I am confirming My covenant with you and your descendants after you,

6 Whoever sheds the blood of a human,

by a human shall that person’s blood be shed,

for in his own image

God made humans.

7 “And you, be fruitful and multiply, abound on the earth and have dominion over it.”

8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you

6 “As for the one shedding the blood of humankind,

by humankind his blood shall be shed,

for God made humankind in his own image.

7 “And you, be fruitful and multiply, swarm on the earth and multiply in it.” 8 And God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “As for me, behold, I am establishing my covenant with you and with your seed after you,

6 “Anyone who murders man

will be killed by man.

That is because I have made man

in my own likeness.

7 “Have children and increase your numbers. Multiply on the earth and increase your numbers on it.”

8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him. He said, 9 “I am now making my covenant with you and with all of your children who will be born after you.

6 “Whoever sheds man’s blood,

By man his blood shall be shed,

For in the image of God

He made man.

7 “As for you, be fruitful and multiply;

Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”

8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,

9 “Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you;
