11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall 4fall on me,”

Even the night shall be light about me;

12 Indeed, jthe darkness 5shall not hide from You,

Psalm 139:11–13 — The New International Version (NIV)

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — English Standard Version (ESV)

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,

and the light about me be night,”

12 even the darkness is not dark to you;

the night is bright as the day,

for darkness is as light with you.

13 For you formed my inward parts;

you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;

Even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee;

But the night shineth as the day:

The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins:

Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — New Living Translation (NLT)

11 I could ask the darkness to hide me

and the light around me to become night—

12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.

To you the night shines as bright as day.

Darkness and light are the same to you.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body

and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — New Century Version (NCV)

11 I could say, “The darkness will hide me.

Let the light around me turn into night.”

12 But even the darkness is not dark to you.

The night is as light as the day;

darkness and light are the same to you.

13 You made my whole being;

you formed me in my mother’s body.

Psalm 139:11–13 — American Standard Version (ASV)

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me,

And the light about me shall be night;

12 Even the darkness hideth not from thee,

But the night shineth as the day:

The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou didst form my inward parts:

Thou didst cover me in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

11 And if I say, Surely darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night; 12 Even darkness hideth not from thee, and the night shineth as the day: the darkness is as the light. 13 For thou hast possessed my reins; thou didst cover me in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

11 If I say, “Let the darkness hide me

and let the light around me turn into night,”

12 even the darkness is not too dark for you.

Night is as bright as day.

Darkness and light are the same ⸤to you⸥.

13 You alone created my inner being.

You knitted me together inside my mother.

Psalm 139:11–13 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me,

and the light around me will be night” —

The night shines like the day;

darkness and light are alike to You.

13 For it was You who created my inward parts;

You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,

and the light around me become night,”

the night is as bright as the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

13 For it was you who formed my inward parts;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)

11 And if I should say, “Surely darkness will cover me,

and the light around me will be as night,”

12 even the darkness is not too dark for you,

and the night shines as the day—

the darkness and the light are alike for you.

13 Indeed you created my inward parts;

you wove me in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:11–13 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)

11 Suppose I were to say, “I’m sure the darkness will hide me.

The light around me will become as dark as night.”

12 Even that darkness would not be dark to you.

The night would shine like the day,

because darkness is like light to you.

13 You created the deepest parts of my being.

You put me together inside my mother’s body.

Psalm 139:11–13 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)

13 For You formed my inward parts;
