25 In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill. 26 The moon will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven full days, when the Lord binds up the bruises of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.

27 See, the Name of the Lord comes from afar,

with burning anger and dense clouds of smoke;

his lips are full of wrath,

and his tongue is a consuming fire.

28 His breath is like a rushing torrent,

rising up to the neck.

He shakes the nations in the sieve of destruction;

he places in the jaws of the peoples

a bit that leads them astray.

25 And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. 26 Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.

27 Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar,

burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke;

his lips are full of fury,

and his tongue is like a devouring fire;

28 his breath is like an overflowing stream

that reaches up to the neck;

to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction,

and to place on the jaws of the peoples a bridle that leads astray.

25 And there shall be upon every high mountain,

And upon every high hill,

Rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter,

When the towers fall.

26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun,

And the light of the sun shall be sevenfold,

As the light of seven days,

In the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people,

And healeth the stroke of their wound.

27 Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from far,

Burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy:

His lips are full of indignation,

And his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream,

Shall reach to the midst of the neck,

To sift the nations with the sieve of vanity:

And there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

25 In that day, when your enemies are slaughtered and the towers fall, there will be streams of water flowing down every mountain and hill. 26 The moon will be as bright as the sun, and the sun will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days in one! So it will be when the Lord begins to heal his people and cure the wounds he gave them.

27 Look! The Lord is coming from far away,

burning with anger,

surrounded by thick, rising smoke.

His lips are filled with fury;

his words consume like fire.

28 His hot breath pours out like a flood

up to the neck of his enemies.

He will sift out the proud nations for destruction.

He will bridle them and lead them away to ruin.

25 Every mountain and hill will have streams filled with water. These things will happen after many people are killed and the towers are pulled down. 26 At that time the light from the moon will be bright like the sun, and the light from the sun will be seven times brighter than now, like the light of seven days. These things will happen when the Lord bandages his broken people and heals the hurts he gave them.

27 Look! The Lord comes from far away.

His anger is like a fire with thick clouds of smoke.

His mouth is filled with anger,

and his tongue is like a burning fire.

28 His breath is like a rushing river,

which rises to the throat.

He will judge the nations as if he is sifting them through the strainer of destruction.

He will place in their mouths a bit that will lead them the wrong way.

25 And there shall be upon every lofty mountain, and upon every high hill, brooks and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. 26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah bindeth up the hurt of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

27 Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire; 28 and his breath is as an overflowing stream, that reacheth even unto the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction: and a bridle that causeth to err shall be in the jaws of the peoples.

27 Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning with his anger—a grievous conflagration; his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a consuming fire; 28 and his breath as an overflowing torrent, which reacheth even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and to put a bridle into the jaws of the peoples, that causeth them to go astray.

25 There will be brooks and streams on every lofty mountain and every high hill. When the day of the great slaughter comes, towers will fall. 26 Then the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun. The light of the sun will be seven times as strong, like the light of seven days. When that day comes, the Lord will bandage his people’s injuries and heal the wounds he inflicted. 

27 The name of the Lord is going to come from far away. 

His anger is burning. 

His burden is heavy. 

His lips are filled with fury. 

His tongue is like a devouring flame. 

28 His breath is like an overflowing stream. 

It rises neck high, 

sifting the nations with a sieve of destruction, 

placing a bit in the mouths of the people 

to lead them astray. 

25 Streams flowing with water will be on every high mountain and every raised hill on the day of great slaughter when the towers fall. 26 The moonlight will be as bright as the sunlight, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter —like the light of seven days—on the day that the Lord bandages His people’s injuries and heals the wounds He inflicted.

on the day when Yahweh binds up the breakage of his people,

and he heals the wound of his blow.

27 Look! The name of Yahweh comes from afar,

burning with his anger and heaviness of cloud.

His lips are full of indignation,

and his tongue is like a devouring fire.

28 And his breath is like an overflowing river;

it reaches up to the neck

to shake the nations with the sieve of worthlessness;

and a bridle that leads astray is on the jawbones of the peoples.

25 At that time the towers of your enemies will fall down. Their soldiers will die. Streams of water will flow on every high mountain and hill.

26 The moon will shine like the sun. And the sunlight will be seven times brighter than usual. It will be like the light of seven full days. That will happen when the Lord bandages and heals the wounds and bruises he has brought on his people.

27 The Lord will come from far away

in all of his power and glory.

He will show his burning anger.

Thick clouds of smoke will be all around him.

His mouth will speak angry words.

The words from his tongue will be like a destroying fire.

28 His breath will be like a rushing flood

that rises up to the neck.

He’ll separate out the nations he is going to destroy.

He’ll place a bit in their jaws.

It will lead them down the road to death.

26 The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, on the day the Lord binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted.

27 Behold, the name of the Lord comes from a remote place;

Burning is His anger and dense is His smoke;

His lips are filled with indignation

And His tongue is like a consuming fire;

28 His breath is like an overflowing torrent,

Which reaches to the neck,

To shake the nations back and forth in a sieve,

And to put in the jaws of the peoples the bridle which leads to ruin.
