20 The word of the Lord came to me: 21 “Son of man, set your face against Sidon; prophesy against her 22 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘I am against you, Sidon,

and among you I will display my glory.

You will know that I am the Lord,

when I inflict punishment on you

and within you am proved to be holy.

23 I will send a plague upon you

and make blood flow in your streets.

The slain will fall within you,

with the sword against you on every side.

Then you will know that I am the Lord.

24 “ ‘No longer will the people of Israel have malicious neighbors who are painful briers and sharp thorns. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.

20 The word of the Lord came to me: 21 “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against her 22 and say, Thus says the Lord God:

“Behold, I am against you, O Sidon,

and I will manifest my glory in your midst.

And they shall know that I am the Lord

when I execute judgments in her

and manifest my holiness in her;

23 for I will send pestilence into her,

and blood into her streets;

and the slain shall fall in her midst,

by the sword that is against her on every side.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

24 “And for the house of Israel there shall be no more a brier to prick or a thorn to hurt them among all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.

20 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it, 22 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. 23 For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the Lord. 24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord God.

20 Then another message came to me from the Lord: 21 “Son of man, turn and face the city of Sidon and prophesy against it. 22 Give the people of Sidon this message from the Sovereign Lord:

“I am your enemy, O Sidon,

and I will reveal my glory by what I do to you.

When I bring judgment against you

and reveal my holiness among you,

everyone watching will know

that I am the Lord.

23 I will send a plague against you,

and blood will be spilled in your streets.

The attack will come from every direction,

and your people will lie slaughtered within your walls.

Then everyone will know

that I am the Lord.

24 No longer will Israel’s scornful neighbors

prick and tear at her like briers and thorns.

For then they will know

that I am the Sovereign Lord.

20 The Lord spoke his word to me, saying: 21 “Human, look toward the city of Sidon and prophesy against her. 22 Say: ‘This is what the Lord God says:

I am against you, Sidon,

and I will show my glory among you.

People will know that I am the Lord

when I have punished Sidon;

I will show my holiness by defeating her.

23 I will send diseases to Sidon,

and blood will flow in her streets.

Those who are wounded in Sidon will fall dead,

attacked from all sides.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

24 “ ‘No more will neighboring nations be like thorny branches or sharp stickers to hurt Israel. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.

20 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, set thy face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it, 22 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Sidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. 23 For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, with the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. 24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are round about them, that did despite unto them; and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

20 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it, 22 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her. 23 And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I am Jehovah. 24 And there shall be no more a wounding sting for the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn, among all that were round about them, that despised them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

20 The Lord spoke his word to me. He said, 21 “Son of man, turn to Sidon and prophesy against it. 22 Tell it, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: 

I’m against you, Sidon. 

I will show my greatness through you. 

Then people will know that I am the Lord, 

because I will punish you and show you how holy I am. 

23 I will send a plague against you 

and make blood flow in your streets. 

Your people will fall dead. 

People with swords will attack you from every side. 

Then they will know that I am the Lord. 

24 The nation of Israel will no longer be hurt 

by prickly thorns or sharp briars from everyone around them. 

Then they will know that I am the Almighty Lord.

Look! I am against you, Sidon,

and I will display My glory within you.

They will know that I am Yahweh

when I execute judgments against her

and demonstrate My holiness through her.

23 I will send a plague against her

and bloodshed in her streets;

the slain will fall within her,

while the sword is against her on every side.

Then they will know that I am Yahweh.

24 “The house of Israel will no longer be hurt by prickly briers or painful thorns from all their neighbors who treat them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

20 The word of the Lord came to me: 21 Mortal, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it, 22 and say, Thus says the Lord God:

I am against you, O Sidon,

and I will gain glory in your midst.

They shall know that I am the Lord

when I execute judgments in it,

and manifest my holiness in it;

23 for I will send pestilence into it,

and bloodshed into its streets;

and the dead shall fall in its midst,

by the sword that is against it on every side.

And they shall know that I am the Lord.

24 The house of Israel shall no longer find a pricking brier or a piercing thorn among all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. And they shall know that I am the Lord God.

20 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 21 “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon and prophesy against it, 22 and you must say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“Look! I am against you, Sidon,

and I display my glory in the midst of you,

and they will know that I am Yahweh

when I execute my judgments,

and I will show myself holy within it.

23 And I will send into it a plague,

and blood will be in its streets.

And the dead will fall in the midst of her

by the sword that is against it from all around;

and they will know that I am Yahweh.

24 And there will not be any longer a painful thorn and a sharp thornbush for the house of Israel from anywhere around them from those who are despising them, and they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.” ’ ”

20 A message came to me from the Lord. He said, 21 “Son of man, turn your attention to the city of Sidon. Prophesy against it. 22 Say, ‘The Lord and King says,

“ ‘ “Sidon, I am against your people.

I will gain glory for myself inside your city walls.

I will punish your people.

I will show that I am holy among them.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

23 I will send a plague on them.

I will make blood flow in your streets.

Those who are killed will fall inside you.

Swords will strike your people on every side.

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

24 “ ‘ “The people of Israel will no longer have neighbors who hate them. Those neighbors will not be like sharp and painful thorns anymore. Then Israel will know that I am the Lord and King.” ’ ”

20 And the word of the Lord came to me saying,

21 “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, prophesy against her

22 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God,

“Behold, I am against you, O Sidon,

And I will be glorified in your midst.

Then they will know that I am the Lord when I execute judgments in her,

And I will manifest My holiness in her.

23 “For I will send pestilence to her

And blood to her streets,

And the wounded will fall in her midst

By the sword upon her on every side;

Then they will know that I am the Lord.

24 “And there will be no more for the house of Israel a prickling brier or a painful thorn from any round about them who scorned them; then they will know that I am the Lord God.”
