2 Samuel 12:12–14

12 For you did it secretly, jbut I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’ ”

And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has mput away your sin; you shall not die. 14 However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord nto blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”

12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’ ”

13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”

Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die.”
