15 Why do you cry out over your hurt?

Your pain is incurable.

Because your guilt is great,

because your sins are flagrant,

I have done these things to you.

16 Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured,

and all your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity;

those who plunder you shall be plundered,

and all who prey on you I will make a prey.

17 For I will restore health to you,

and your wounds I will heal,

declares the Lord,

because they have called you an outcast:

‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’

15 Why criest thou for thine affliction?

Thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity:

Because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured;

And all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity;

And they that spoil thee shall be a spoil,

And all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

17 For I will restore health unto thee,

And I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord;

Because they called thee an Outcast, saying,

This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

15 Why do you protest your punishment—

this wound that has no cure?

I have had to punish you

because your sins are many

and your guilt is great.

16 “But all who devour you will be devoured,

and all your enemies will be sent into exile.

All who plunder you will be plundered,

and all who attack you will be attacked.

17 I will give you back your health

and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.

“For you are called an outcast—

‘Jerusalem for whom no one cares.’ ”

Your sorrow is incurable.

Because of the multitude of your iniquities,

Because your sins have increased,

I have done these things to you.

16 ‘Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured;

And all your adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity;

Those who plunder you shall become plunder,

And all who prey upon you I will make a prey.

17 For I will restore health to you

And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,

‘Because they called you an outcast saying:

“This is Zion;

No one seeks her.” ’

15 Why are you crying out about your injury?

There is no cure for your pain.

I did these things to you because of your great guilt,

because of your many sins.

16 But all those nations that destroyed you will now be destroyed.

All your enemies will become captives in other lands.

Those who stole from you will have their own things stolen.

Those who took things from you in war will have their own things taken.

17 I will bring back your health

and heal your injuries,” says the Lord,

“because other people forced you away.

They said about you, ‘No one cares about Jerusalem!’ ”

15 Why criest thou because of thy bruise? thy sorrow is incurable; for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins are manifold, I have done these things unto thee. 16 Therefore all that devour thee shall be devoured, and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be for a spoil; and all they that prey upon thee will I give to be a prey. 17 For I will apply a bandage unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; for they have called thee an outcast: This is Zion that no man seeketh after.

15 Why do you cry about your wound, your injury that can’t be cured? 

I’ve done this to you. 

You are very wicked, and you have many sins. 

16 That is why everyone who devours you will be devoured, 

and all your enemies will be taken away as captives. 

Those who looted you will be looted. 

Those who stole from you in war will have things stolen from them. 

17 I’ll restore your health and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord. 

“People call you an outcast: 

Zion, no one cares for you.

this is the Lord’s declaration—

for they call you Outcast,

Zion whom no one cares about.

and I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares Yahweh.

‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying,

“It is Zion, there is no one who cares for her.” ’

Your pain can’t be healed.

Your guilt is very great.

And you have committed many sins.

That is why I have done all of those things to you.

16 “But everyone who destroys you will be destroyed.

All of your enemies will be forced

to leave their countries.

Those who steal from you will be stolen from.

I will take the belongings

of those who take things from you.

17 But I will make you healthy again.

I will heal your wounds,”

announces the Lord.

“That is because you have been thrown out.

You are called Zion, the one no one cares about.”
