Psalm 110–112
“Sit at my right handd
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”e
2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepterf from Zion,g saying,
“Ruleh in the midst of your enemies!”
on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,i
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb.b j
and will not change his mind:k
“You are a priest forever,l
in the order of Melchizedek.m”
5 The Lord is at your right handc;n
he will crush kingso on the day of his wrath.p
6 He will judge the nations,q heaping up the deadr
and crushing the rulerss of the whole earth.
7 He will drink from a brook along the way,d
and so he will lift his head high.t
Psalm 111a
1 Praise the Lord.b
I will extol the Lordu with all my heartv
in the councilw of the upright and in the assembly.x
2 Great are the worksy of the Lord;
they are pondered by allz who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness enduresa forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and compassionate.b
5 He provides foodc for those who fear him;d
he remembers his covenante forever.
6 He has shown his people the power of his works,f
giving them the lands of other nations.g
7 The works of his handsh are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.i
8 They are established for everj and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemptionk for his people;
he ordained his covenant forever—
holy and awesomel is his name.
10 The fear of the Lordm is the beginning of wisdom;n
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.o
To him belongs eternal praise.p
Psalm 112a
Blessed are thoser who fear the Lord,s
who find great delightt in his commands.
2 Their childrenu will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and richesv are in their houses,
and their righteousness enduresw forever.
4 Even in darkness light dawnsx for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.y
5 Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,z
who conduct their affairs with justice.
6 Surely the righteous will never be shaken;a
they will be rememberedb forever.
7 They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast,c trusting in the Lord.d
8 Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;e
in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.f
9 They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,g
their righteousness enduresh forever;
their hornc will be liftedi high in honor.
10 The wicked will seej and be vexed,
they will gnash their teethk and waste away;l
the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.m
