Leviticus 19:28–33

28 You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.

29 “Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity. 30 You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.

31 “Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

32 “You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

33 “When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.

28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. 29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. 30 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. 31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God. 32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord. 33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

28 “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord.

29 “Do not defile your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will be filled with prostitution and wickedness.

30 “Keep my Sabbath days of rest, and show reverence toward my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

31 “Do not defile yourselves by turning to mediums or to those who consult the spirits of the dead. I am the Lord your God.

32 “Stand up in the presence of the elderly, and show respect for the aged. Fear your God. I am the Lord.

33 “Do not take advantage of foreigners who live among you in your land.

29 ‘Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness.

30 ‘You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord.

31 ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

32 ‘You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the Lord.

33 ‘And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.

28 You must not cut your body to show sadness for someone who died or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.

29 “ ‘Do not dishonor your daughter by making her become a prostitute. If you do this, the country will be filled with all kinds of sin.

30 “ ‘Obey the laws about Sabbaths, and respect my Most Holy Place. I am the Lord.

31 “ ‘Do not go to mediums or fortune-tellers for advice, or you will become unclean. I am the Lord your God.

32 “ ‘Show respect to old people; stand up in their presence. Show respect also to your God. I am the Lord.

33 “ ‘Do not mistreat foreigners living in your country,

32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.

33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong.

28 And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah. 29 —Do not profane thy daughter, to give her up to whoredom; lest the land practise whoredom, and the land become full of infamy.

30 —My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah. 31 —Turn not unto necromancers and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God. 32 Before the hoary head thou shalt rise up, and shalt honour the face of an old man; and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah. 33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not molest him.

28 Never slash your body to mourn the dead, and never get a tattoo. I am the Lord. 

29 “Never dishonor your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country will turn to prostitution and be filled with people who are perverted. 

30 “Observe my days of rest as holy days and respect my holy tent. I am the Lord. 

31 “Don’t turn to psychics or mediums to get help. That will make you unclean. I am the Lord your God. 

32 “Show respect to the elderly, and honor older people. In this way you show respect for your God. I am the Lord. 

33 “Never mistreat a foreigner living in your land.

29 “Do not debase your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will be prostituted and filled with depravity. 30 You must keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

31 “Do not turn to mediums or consult spiritists, or you will be defiled by them; I am Yahweh your God.

32 “You are to rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the old. Fear your God; I am Yahweh.

33 “When a foreigner lives with you in your land, you must not oppress him.

28 You shall not make any gashes in your flesh for the dead or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

29 “Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, that the land not become prostituted and full of depravity. 30 You shall keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary: I am the Lord.

31 “Do not turn to mediums and spiritualists; do not seek them out, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

32 “You shall rise before the aged and defer to the old, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

33 “When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien.

28 And you shall not make a slash in your body for a dead person, nor shall you make on yourselves a tattoo’s mark; I am Yahweh.

29 “ ‘You shall not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land be prostituted and the land fill up with depravity. 30 You shall keep my Sabbaths, and you shall revere my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.

31 “ ‘You shall not turn to the mediums and to the soothsayers; you shall not seek them to become unclean with them; I am Yahweh your God.

32 “ ‘Before old age you shall get up, and you shall show respect for an old person; and you shall revere your God; I am Yahweh.

33 “ ‘And when an alien dwells with you in your land, you shall not oppress him.

28 “ ‘Do not make cuts on your bodies when someone dies. Do not put marks on your skin. I am the Lord.

29 “ ‘Do not dishonor your daughter’s body by making a prostitute out of her. If you do, the people of Israel will start using prostitutes. The land will be filled with evil.

30 “ ‘You must always keep my Sabbath days. Have respect for my sacred tent. I am the Lord.

31 “ ‘Do not look for advice from people who get messages from those who have died. Do not go to people who talk to the spirits of the dead. If you do, they will make you “unclean.” I am the Lord your God.

32 “ ‘Stand up in order to show your respect for old people. Also have respect for me. I am the Lord your God.

33 “ ‘Suppose an outsider lives with you in your land. Then do not treat him badly.

32 ‘You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the Lord.

33 ‘When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.
