Job 19:27–29 — English Standard Version (ESV)
27 whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!
28 If you say, ‘How we will pursue him!’
and, ‘The root of the matter is found in him,’
29 be afraid of the sword,
for wrath brings the punishment of the sword,
that you may know there is a judgment.”
Job 19:27–29 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
27 Whom I shall see for myself,
And mine eyes shall behold, and not another;
Though my reins be consumed within me.
28 But ye should say, Why persecute we him,
Seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Be ye afraid of the sword:
For wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword,
That ye may know there is a judgment.
Job 19:27–29 — New Living Translation (NLT)
27 I will see him for myself.
Yes, I will see him with my own eyes.
I am overwhelmed at the thought!
28 “How dare you go on persecuting me,
saying, ‘It’s his own fault’?
29 You should fear punishment yourselves,
for your attitude deserves punishment.
Then you will know that there is indeed a judgment.”
Job 19:27–29 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
27 Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
28 If you should say, ‘How shall we persecute him?’—
Since the root of the matter is found in me,
29 Be afraid of the sword for yourselves;
For wrath brings the punishment of the sword,
That you may know there is a judgment.”
Job 19:27–29 — New Century Version (NCV)
27 I will see him myself;
I will see him with my very own eyes.
How my heart wants that to happen!
28 “If you say, ‘We will continue to trouble Job,
because the problem lies with him,’
29 you should be afraid of the sword yourselves.
God’s anger will bring punishment by the sword.
Then you will know there is judgment.”
Job 19:27–29 — American Standard Version (ASV)
27 Whom I, even I, shall see, on my side,
And mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger.
My heart is consumed within me.
28 If ye say, How we will persecute him!
And that the root of the matter is found in me;
29 Be ye afraid of the sword:
For wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword,
That ye may know there is a judgment.
Job 19:27–29 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another: —my reins are consumed within me. 28 If ye say, How shall we persecute him? when the root of the matter is found in me, 29 Be ye yourselves afraid of the sword! for the sword is fury against misdeeds, that ye may know there is a judgment.

not with someone else’s.

because ⸤your anger⸥ is punishable by death.
Then you will know there is a judge.”

my eyes will look at Him, and not as a stranger.
My heart longs within me.
