James 1:27–2:1

27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

1 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

1 My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?

27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.

27 Religion that God accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help, and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence.

1 My dear brothers and sisters, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, never think some people are more important than others.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

1 My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

1 My brethren, do not have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lord of glory, with respect of persons:

27 Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world. 

1 My brothers and sisters, practice your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ by not favoring one person over another.

27 Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

1 My brothers, do not show favoritism as you hold on to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.

27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

1 My brothers and sisters, do not claim the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory while showing partiality.

27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

1 My brothers, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with partiality.

27 Here are the kinds of beliefs that God our Father accepts as pure and without fault. When widows and children who have no parents are in trouble, take care of them. And keep yourselves from being polluted by the world.

1 My brothers and sisters, you are believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. So treat everyone the same.

27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.
