Isaiah 45:3–5

3 I will give you the treasures of darkness

and the hoards in secret places,

that you may know that it is I, the Lord,

the God of Israel, who call you by your name.

4 For the sake of my servant Jacob,

and Israel my chosen,

I call you by your name,

I name you, though you do not know me.

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other,

besides me there is no God;

I equip you, though you do not know me,

3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness,

And hidden riches of secret places,

That thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect,

I have even called thee by thy name:

I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

5 I am the Lord, and there is none else,

There is no God beside me:

I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

3 And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness—

secret riches.

I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord,

the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

4 “And why have I called you for this work?

Why did I call you by name when you did not know me?

It is for the sake of Jacob my servant,

Israel my chosen one.

5 I am the Lord;

there is no other God.

I have equipped you for battle,

though you don’t even know me,

3 I will give you the treasures of darkness

And hidden riches of secret places,

That you may know that I, the Lord,

Who call you by your name,

Am the God of Israel.

4 For Jacob My servant’s sake,

And Israel My elect,

I have even called you by your name;

I have named you, though you have not known Me.

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other;

There is no God besides Me.

I will gird you, though you have not known Me,

3 I will give you the wealth that is stored away

and the hidden riches

so you will know I am the Lord,

the God of Israel, who calls you by name.

4 I do these things for my servants, the people of Jacob,

and for my chosen people, the Israelites.

Cyrus, I call you by name,

and I give you a title of honor even though you don’t know me.

5 I am the Lord. There is no other God;

I am the only God.

I will make you strong,

even though you don’t know me,

3 and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that it is I, Jehovah, who call thee by thy name, even the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. 5 I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;

3 and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places; that thou mayest know that I, Jehovah, who call thee by name, am the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have called thee by thy name; I surnamed thee, though thou didst not know me;

5 I am Jehovah, and there is none else; there is no God beside me: I girded thee, and thou hast not known me;

3 I will give you treasures from dark places and hidden stockpiles. 

Then you will know that I, the Lord God of Israel, 

have called you by name. 

4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, 

Israel, my chosen one, 

I have called you by name. 

I have given you a title of honor, although you don’t know me. 

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other. 

There is no other God besides me. 

I will strengthen you, although you don’t know me,

so that you may know that I, Yahweh,

the God of Israel call you by your name.

4 I call you by your name,

because of Jacob My servant

and Israel My chosen one.

I give a name to you,

though you do not know Me.

5 I am Yahweh, and there is no other;

there is no God but Me.

I will strengthen you,

though you do not know Me,

and riches hidden in secret places,

so that you may know that it is I, the Lord,

the God of Israel, who call you by your name.

I arm you, though you do not know me,

3 And I will give you the treasures of darkness

and treasures of secret places

so that you may know that I am Yahweh,

the one who calls you by your name, the God of Israel,

4 for the sake of my servant Jacob,

and Israel my chosen one.

And I call you by your name;

I give you a name of honor, though you do not know me.

5 I am Yahweh, and there is none besides me;

besides me there is no god.

I gird you though you do not know me,

3 I will give you treasures that are hidden away in dark places.

I will give you riches that are stored up in secret places.

Then you will know that I am the Lord.

I am the God of Israel.

I am sending for you by name.

4 Cyrus, I am sending for you by name.

I am doing it for the good of the family of Jacob.

They are my servants.

I am doing it for Israel.

They are my chosen people.

You do not know anything about me.

But I am giving you a title of honor.

5 I am the Lord. There is no other Lord.

I am the one and only God.

You do not know anything about me.

But I will make you strong.
