Praise the Lord.a n

Praise the Lord, you his servants;o

praise the name of the Lord.

Let the name of the Lord be praised,p

both now and forevermore.q

From the rising of the sunr to the place where it sets,

the name of the Lord is to be praised.

The Lord is exalteds over all the nations,

his glory above the heavens.t

Who is like the Lord our God,u

the One who sits enthronedv on high,w

who stoops down to lookx

on the heavens and the earth?

He raises the poory from the dust

and lifts the needyz from the ash heap;

he seats thema with princes,

with the princes of his people.

He settles the childlessb woman in her home

as a happy mother of children.

Praise, O servants of the Lord,

praise the name of the Lord!

Blessed be the name of the Lord

from this time forth and forevermore!

From the rising of the sun to its setting,

the name of the Lord is to be praised!

The Lord is high above all nations,

and his glory above the heavens!

Who is like the Lord our God,

who is seated on high,

who looks far down

on the heavens and the earth?

He raises the poor from the dust

and lifts the needy from the ash heap,

to make them sit with princes,

with the princes of his people.

He gives the barren woman a home,

making her the joyous mother of children.

Lord my God, I take refuged in you;

save and deliver mee from all who pursue me,f

or they will tear me apart like a liong

and rip me to pieces with no one to rescueh me.

Lord my God, if I have done this

and there is guilt on my handsi

if I have repaid my ally with evil

or without causej have robbed my foe—

then let my enemy pursue and overtakek me;

let him trample my life to the groundl

and make me sleep in the dust.c m

Arise,n Lord, in your anger;

rise up against the rage of my enemies.o

Awake,p my God; decree justice.

Let the assembled peoples gather around you,

while you sit enthroned over them on high.q

8 Let the Lord judger the peoples.

Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness,s

Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
